JUST BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF WILL PARDON THE NATIONAL TURKEY............
The White House announced this afternoon that President Obama will return from Asia just in time to be able to grant a Pardon to the National Turkey. A Presidential custom of receiving a Turkey, usually a white, broad breasted one, a few days before ThanksGiving Day, reportedly dates back to the Truman Administration in 1947. The presentation was formally made a Pardon of the Turkey, as the national bird and traditional entree of Thanksgiving, during the term of President GHW Bushm in 1989. I will have More To Come on the 2012 Ceremony to be held with President Obama for the fourth time tomorrow, not only in preparation to celebrate ThanksGiving Day and weekend; but since childhood has been my favorite meat...........Fr.
