VIDEO SPEECH FROM PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER, TRIBUTE TO SENATOR TED KENNEDY COMING UP............
The next speech on this first night of the 2012 Democratic National Convention will come by video from President Jimmy Carter. This inclusion of Carter, the 39th President of the United States, even as Paul Ryan has been derisively comparing President Obama to Jimmy Carter on the campaign trail, is a sign of political courage in this volatile Presidential Election year and is something that Republican President Richard Nixon, nominated for President thrice and Vice President twice, was ever afforded the opportunity to do, after resigning the Presidency in 1974. President Carter, whose stature has increased in retirement, given his charitable and humanitarian work around the world, made a brief videotaped presentation that in essence is an endorsement of President Obama's re-election, like the videotape last week at the RNC, featuring President Bush 41 & 43 endorsing Mitt Romney's candidacy for President. Joe Kennedy III, candidate for Congress, is speaking of his late uncle Senator Ted Kennedy, which introduces a videotape tribute to Kennedy's 46.5 years in the United Dtates Senate. I t includes footage of his U.S. Senate campaign debate with Mitt Romney in 1994; Kennedy campaigning with Barack Obama in 2008; and passage of the National Health Care Law two years ago after his death, and his decades of support and leadership for universal healthcare. It closes with his summary statement from his 2008 DNC speech which was an update of his 1980 Convention speech clarion call, proclaiming, "The Dream Lives On"............tdp
