BEING THE BODY OF CHRIST AS BELIEVERS IN LIVING FAITH............
On this Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the liturgical feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, Catholic Christian Disciples affirm our belief that Jesus memorialized for us and the redemption of all humankind the institution of the Holy Eucharist, the ultimate sacrifice and sacrament of Divine Love. Under simple elements of bread and wine, Jesus consecrates the sacred meal of His Body and Blood as the supreme means of praising and granting thanksgiving to God, and to nourish our bodies and souls as Christ's followers in the World. The Body and Blood of Christ we celebrate and receive in the weekly Eucharist gives us the grace and sustenance to live as Faithful Witnesses in a challenging and changing world, and in anticipation of sharing in God's Kingdom; as we keep and carry out our Baptismal obligations to Believe and be Holy, as we carry our commitment to the Catholic-Christianity we profess. May the observance of Corpus Christi deepen your gratitude and insight for the Holy Communion we share, the Sacrament of the Eucharist, by which we become what we eat and drink, other Christs for one another and for all, as members of the Body of Jesus The Christ, in both the Church and the World............Fr.
