WHAT A JUBILEE NIGHT IT WAS !!!!!.....ONWARD, TO SOUTH LAKE TAHOE / RENO TODAY ON THE BUTLERS' FIRST VISIT TO CAL.NEVA............

I am personally and pastorally grateful to the 150 or so persons who turned out last night for my Silver Jubilee Mass, concelebrated by Msgrs. Edward Kavanagh and James Church, Fathers Benedict DeLeon and Oliver Maher, who was also the homilist.  Victor Herrera was the Acolyte; Msgr. Church and Mary Carson, the Lectors; Noe Perez and Geraldine Butler, read the General Intercessions; the Dressing of the Altar and Presentation of the Gifts was done by Roger and Karin Geach, Ted Dahlberg, Paul and Sharon Friedrich; and Music Ministry led by Ray Riehle.  A Jubilee Dinner followed in Original Pete's Restaurant in Elk Grove, owned by Rodd and Karla Geach; which was attended by approximately 60 persons.  Joe Gibson was the Mater of Ceremonies / Toastmaster; and the Dinner Speakers were Father Benedict DeLeon; City Councilmember Sandy Sheedy; Teres Mugnaini; Patricia Hornback; Monsignor Edward J. Kavanagh; and J.Patrick McNamara; who presented a video he produced with a surprise special guest :  Sacramento Bishop Emeritus Francis Anthony Quinn, who ordained me a Priest of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Sacramento, on May 2, 1987.  A meaningful, memorable, magnificent, night it was celkebrating this milestone in ministry  and sharing my celebration of silver jubilee with the pertinent People of God, who have shaped it..... Onward !!!!!  As today I escort my Irish visitors to South Lake Tahoe and Reno............Fr.  Troy
