QUIET WAITING ON THIS HOLY SATURDAY FOR THE GREATEST OF ALL VIGILS............
With the dawning of the sun on this Holy Saturday morning, Catholic-Christian Disciples of the Crucified Cross quietly wait through this day on which Jesus laid in the tomb after his harrowing Passion and Death on Calvary, anticipating the nightwatch of the Resurrection, that is known as the greatest of all vigils in the history of the Church. As it is the day before Easter Sunday, the central Christian Feast, it is also the preparation day for Catholic-Christian families as we get ready to celebrate Easter Sunday meals with loved ones and friends with special festivity. Here at Mercy McMahon Terrace, today is a usual Saturday, with Sunday Mass at it's usual weekly time of 4 p.m., whereas outside settings such as this there are no Masses allowed in parishes on Holy Saturday before the Easter Vigil Service, which cannot begin before 8:15 p.m., sufficiently after sunset. To regularize my experience of the Easter Vigil, I hope to make my way across the street for the 8:15 p.m. Easter Vigil Liturgy, in Sacred Heart Church, as I strive not to surrender to my currently abnormal circumstances............Fr. Troy
