THE 'LAND OF LINCOLN AND OBAMA' REPUBLICANS VOTE IN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY TODAY............

The latest contest in the 2012 GOP race for President is in Illinois, political home of President Abraham Lincoln and President Barack Obama, today.  As was the case last Tuesday when Romney was showing greater strength than Santorum in the polls going into the primaries  in the Alabama and Mississippi, only to have Santorum win in both states, with Romney finishing in third place behind Gingrich; Romney seems poised to win in Illinois, but unless Gingrich continues to pull double digit percentage votes, Santorum's ability to win tonight remains.  I will blog tonight as results come in as we see whether tonight Romney can begin to nail down the nomination or if Santorum can further the effectiveness of his campaign to be the conservative alternative to Romney for the right to oppose President Obama in the November General Election............Fr.  Troy
