JANUARY 1, 2012 A.D., NEW YEAR'S DAY; SOLEMNITY OF MARY MOTHER OF GOD; WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR PEACE; OCTAVE DAY OF CHRISTMAS...........
The Year of Our Lord Jesus Christ - 2012 dawns today with the promise and hope that this New Year brings greater Peace and stability for the Peoples of the World, God's People in our country and around the globe. Despite hardships and struggles in our personal, societal, or international lives, this New Year garners our renewed energies and efforts that 2012 will be further blessings and goodness, that is at the core of being Redeemed, and Purposeful, Persons who can and do, make a valuable contribution to the betterment of Humankind. For Catholic-Christians, New Year's Day, is also the Octave - "eighth" day of Christmas, denoting the day on which the Christ Child was Circumcised; and is liturgically focused on the Blessed Virgin Mary being the Mother of God; and as it has been thematically observed for the forty-fifth year, as a day of special universal Prayer for Global Peace. May the Spirit of Christmas radiate in these opening hours and first day of this New Year, as we renew our Belief in, and Relationship with, the sancrosanct and supreme, Son of God and Son of Mary; Who is the Prince of Peace, King of the Universe, and Truly the Lord and Savior, Redeemer of God's Creation...........Happy New Year Families, Friends, Fellow Believers @ OLOL Parish and Everywhere, Fr. Troy
