SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY : A TRULY WORTHWHILE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING ENDEAVOR...........
On this third day of our four day ThanksGiving weekend, with the Christmas shopping season fully underway, today American consumers who our doing Christmas shopping, are asked to concentrate on the local stores and shops in their neighborhoods, on what is the second annual, "Small Business Saturday". The purpose behind 'Small Business Saturday', is that we patronize our own neighborhood shops and businesses, in addition to the mall and major box and warehouse stores, to keep the spirit of Christmas nearest home. Sixty eight cents of every dollar spent in a small business shop or store remains in the local economy, thus a boon not only to those businesses but to our neighborhoods. It is wonderful that despite the hype and frenzy of the major stores that renewed focus is being placed on small businesses as we journey forth into a locally based celebration of the Christmas Season that most authentically home based...........Fr.
