"THE WORD AMONG US", OCTOBER 2011 ISSUE AND PARISH SCRIPTURE STUDY STARTING TODAY...........
The October 2011 issue, of the biblical meditation booklet, "The Word Among Us", is entitled, "You Are Not Alone - Finding God's Help In Tough Times". Today. OLOL Parish, is embarking on a three month, Thursday afternoon Scripture Study Series, using the October, November, and December, issues of, "The Word Among Us", as our study resource. We will open the series today from 1:30-3 p.m., by discussing the thematic introductory commentary by the publisher, Joseph DiFato, Ph.D., 'A God Of Comfort'; and then consider the biblical meditation for this coming Sunday October 2, based on the Second Reading from the Mass of the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Philipians 4:6-9; 'Have no anxiety at all'; followed by reflecting on the passage from Philippians, in light of the the message imparted by the publisher's commentary for October. The four Thursdays of October, we will follow the same format, but using the other four primary feature articles written for the month, "I Am He Who Comforts You", "How Long O Lord", "You Are Not Alone", and, "Burma Comes To Bowling Green", as our weekly focuses. Those participating will be asked to pray the daily biblical reflections and Mass propers, during the remainder of the week, and meditate on them in the context of the feature article of the week, and their own life experiences. Canossian Sister Teresa Norris, will be my back up faciltator, and I am hopeful that a good response on the part of the parishioners will be achieved, as so often I have heard from parishioners through the years, that they welcome a daytime opportunity for bible based, faith formation. All adults are welcome to join us and share in these weekly sessions. The cost for the entire series is $3.00, to cover the cost of the monthly booklets for October, November, December...........May We, "Share His Word"...And, "Listen To God", Fr. Troy
