MEETING WITH THE CONFIRMATION CLASS AND "ASK FATHER TROY", GOES WELL...........

My visit with OLOL's 8th Grade Confirmation Class last night, went very well.  Canossian Sister Lisa Doty, had them gather in the church as they arrived for a period of quiet prayer.  With the only the church sanctuary lighted and the natural temperature of the edifice without air conditioning on; provided for a quiet and reflective atmosphere.  Sister Lisa opened the night's session with them in the church praying an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and an Invocation of the Holy Spirit.  She then had them listen to the Sunday Scriptures for September 25, reading the Old and New Testament Readings, and reciting the Responsorial Psalm, and Alleluia Verse, to their response.  Sister then asked me to read the Gospel.  Following, she briefly instructed them in the meaning of the Gospel story.  Then we went into the Parish Hall, where she invited me to address the students and to take their questions.  An interesting exchange it was with first questions concentrated on my age, and what happened that I am in a wheelchair presently.  Sister then asked me to share briefly how I chose to become a priest.  She concluded by introducing Fr. Pius.  A very good first visit the the 9 students, up one from last week - 6 girls; 3 boys; with Sr. Felicity telling me two more brothers are expected to join the class next week...........Come Holy Spirit, Come !!!
