LITURGICALLY FEASTING ON THE BIRTHDAY OF THE BLESSED MOTHER...........
In the Catholic-Christian Faith Tradition, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is calendared on December 8. The Immaculate Conception adhering to our faith belief, that God conceived the Virgin Mary of Nazareth, preserved free from the stain of sin, to be the Mother of His Son Made Man. The natural human gestation period is nine months. Thus today we celebrate the Birth of the Virgin Mary, who was chosen and consecrated to be the Blessed Mother of Jesus The Christ. As I prepare to head to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for my appointment with Dr. Martin, I am praying today not only for the parishioners of OLOL in Sacramento / Del Paso Heights / Rio Linda / Elverta / Robla / , but remembering and lifting up the people of Oroville, and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, where I was appointed Pastor on September 8, 1994, after spending eighteen months as Pastor in St. Joseph's Parish, in Yreka. May our commemoration of the Virgin Mary, as our Blessed Mother, bring us her powerful intercession and maternal love, as we strive to fulfill our Discipleship of the One she bore into the World, God's Redeeming and Reconciling Son, Jesus the Christ, Our Lord And Savior...........Fr.
