ONE THIRD OF THE WAY THROUGH EASTER 2011 - DAY 17. THE SECOND DAY OF OUR PRIESTS' RETREAT...........
On this 3rd Tuesday of Easter, we arrive at the one third way markn in the Paschal Season. It is the second day of the Annual Priests Retreat in the Diocese of Sacramento. We are gathered together at Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus Heights, hearing a message from this week's RetreatMaster, Monsignor Michael Heher, of the Diocese of Orange, California; where he serves as Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia. Our Retreat is based on his book, The Lost Art of, "Walking On Water", Re-imagining the Priesthood. In addition to his eight scheduled talks, there is ample time for fraternity and fellowship between the priests. Since my arrival yesterday, it is increasingly apparent how much my brother priests care for me, as from young to oldest, they are being very solicitous and supportive of me, assisting me in ways they can and affirming my presence, as a fellow participant in the Retreat. And after all, isn't that what Catholic-Christianity and the Priesthood of Jesus Christ is about; caring and sharing in the lives of our brothers and sisters in the Risen and Redeeming Christ ?...........Fr.
