21 MONTHS TODAY SINCE MY KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.....123 DAYS SINCE MY RIGHT FOOT AMPUTATION.....EPISCOPAL ORDINATION DAY FOR BISHOP THOMAS A. DALY, MY SEMINARY CLASSMATE...........
This is the day the Lord has made, Let us Rejoice and be Glad, ALLELUIA ! It was twenty one months ago today, August 25, 2009, that I received my Kidney Transplant, at the Mayo Clinic, in Arizona, thanks be to God. One hundred and twenty three days ago, just over four months since I had my right foot, below the knee, amputation, that is now in the stages of rehabilitation and therapy, that will garner me my temporary prostheses in a matter of days. And today, in St. Joseph's Cathedral Basilica, at 2 p.m., in San Jose, California is the day, my San Francisco seminary classmate, Reverend Father Thomas A. Daly, becomes the Most Reverend Thomas A. Daly, as he is ordained a Bishop of the Church, and becomes the first Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose. Alleluia ! Amen ! Congratulations, and Ad Multos Annos, Bishop Tom. I am being driven down to San Jose this morning, by one of my parishioners at OLOL, in Sacramento, Bruce Hamilton, who operates a car service. Check here later for a further blog report on the Episcopal Ordination, and this proud and happy day for +Tom, his family, friends, and the People of God in the Diocese of San Jose, and the Archdiocese of San Francisco. May the Lord God continue to bless and increase with the Shepherd's servant-leadership of the Bishop Daly, ordained today, with the pastoral, spiritual, and administrative, skills to be a very good Shepherd of the Church. Proud To Be His Seminary Classmate, Colleague, And Friend, Fr. Troy David Powers, Sacramento
