2011 STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS PROVIDES SUBSTANCE AND FOCUS WITHOUT DETAILS...........

President Obama delivered his 3rd State Of The Union Address Tuesday night in a rare atmosphere of bipartisanship and togetherness, at least for a night. It was a more than hour long speech from the dias of the U.S. House of Representatives, with Democratic Vice President Joseph Biden, and Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner, of Ohio, seated behind President Obama. The President was focused on the substance he came to talk about, without going into details of the policies he is proposing, specially in cutting the nstional deficit. But in part that is a political ritual of State of the Union, speaking generally more than specifically, to save one's political capital for later in the compromising and negotiating processes of governing and reaching Presidential / Congressional agreement, in a divided government, poltical compromise circumstance. I watched CNN's pre to post "SOTU", Coverage, from 4 pm - 12 Midnight. The 112th Congress and the second half of the first Obama Administration, whether there is more beyond or not; have been joined.
