CELEBRATING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON IN ONE OF MY FAVORITE WAYS - THE ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER HONORS...........
Since 1978, the year The Kennedy Center Honors began in Washington, D.C., it has been one of my must see Christmas week viewing pleasures. Tonight is no exception. My car buying and other afternoon appointments, had me out of the rectory until the dinner hour, so having eaten, I am now ready for the start of this year's festivities starting at 8 pm Pacific Time, on CBS 13, in Sacramnento. Oprah Winfrey, Bill T. Jones, Jerry Herman, Merle Haggard, and Paul McCartney, are this year's honorees. Scheduled guest presenters are meant to include many past Kennedy Center honorees from the arts; and other current perfornmers in film, stage, music, art, dance, song, and literature. Presented with the American President and First Lady always seated with the newest honorees, from above the proceedings, down on the stage, it is always a very enjoyable and entertaining. Perhaps you too, will enjoy viewing it..........Fr. Troy
