TUESDAY'S PARISH MINISTRY UPDATE.....DANCING WITH FRUSTRATION..........

An interesting day it has been.  First the weather turning somewhat warmer than yesterday chilliness and Sunday's rain.  And a full throttle day on the pastoral front.  After concelebrating the 8 am Mass with Fr. Tony, I got stuck into the Sunday Bulletin copy as Tuesday 1pm is submission deadline for transmittal to JS Paluch.  Then it was over to the church for a Noon meeting with the Feeding The Hungry Ministry, my second of fourteen meetings with the Parish Ministries are I proceed in transition as OLOL's Pastor.  A quick lunch at 1pm, and back to my desk at 1:30 pm to review the mail and catch up with messages, then a 2 pm meeting with Srs. Felicity and Theresa.  A phone call to check in and catch up with my friend and colleague, Fr. Steve Avella, to firm up the Parish Advent Retreat he will be conducting in December for us. That was followed by the evening news broadcasts and then my monthly Spiritual Direction dinner meeting with Permanent Diaconate Paul Friedrich, from Presentation Parish, and a couple of referrals to our St. Vincent de Paul Society ministry, from calls that came in tonight, comprised my day this Tues. Oct. 19.....To chillax, I watched 'Dancing With The Stars', and am disappointed that so called "teen activist" Bristol Palin, beat out "Carol Brady", Florence Henderson.  A travesty, given both their dancing performances last night and their unequal, even  on the Palin's part, undeserved, right to be a contender on the the show.  Let's be honest - were it not for her mother's political fame and her own abstinence avowing, out of wedlock child, Bristol would not be even an afterthought, as a participant in this ballroom dance competition......Time to wind down and say goodnight dear blog readers on this 18th month mark night of, Insights Into Life And Faith By Father Troy Powers..........Thank You And God Bless You All Wherever In The World You Are Reading This,   Fr.  Troy
